Young Chinese Women Attitudes Towards Pornography - 963 Words
3.3 Data Analysis With the use of a comparative qualitative research design, this research can explore womenââ¬â¢s attitudes and beliefs regarding to pornography and its consumption in considerable depth, but the small sample size (only eight research participants) of this qualitative research can result in lack of representation in the research findings of young Chinese women attitudes towards pornography. Bryman (2012) condemned that majority of the research findings from qualitative research cannot be generalised to a bigger population due to the small sample size (Bryman, 2012). Indeed, the issue of representation is less problematic in this research. This is because this study is not attempted for representing on behalf of all young Chinese womenââ¬â¢s opinions and attitudes towards pornography consumption. However, the small sampling size (only 4 consumers and 4 non-consumers of pornography) in this research can connote that other researchers, who might be interested in studying pornog raphy, can still neglect the relationship between pornography and Chinese women due to the fact that the research findings of this are not generalized to a larger Chinese population. Linked to the issue of small sampling, the selection bias inevitably appears as another limitation in this study. As afore-discussed, this study, because of the time constraint problem on carrying out a postgraduate research, has limited its targeted research participants to young Chinese women who are knownShow MoreRelatedA Comparative Study Between Chinese Consumers And Non Consumers Opinions Towards Pornography717 Words à |à 3 PagesFemale Consumers and Pornography: A Comparative Study between Chinese Consumers and Non-consumersââ¬â¢ opinions towards pornography. Todayââ¬â¢S Classroom Visit Was Quite Different Than Any Other
Todayââ¬â¢s classroom visit was quite different than any other time that I have been in Mrs. Kingstonââ¬â¢s class. Due to the fact that March is Reading month is coming to a close tomorrow, Mrs. Kingston had to adjust her schedule for today and tomorrow because the students have an assembly and book buddies that they have to participate in, which are not normal Friday activities. All of this to say that today was a treated more as a catch up day. Students spent most of the morning catching up on their handwriting, morning work, and any other work that is missing or was not finished throughout the week. Since today was a catch-up day, we did not see Mrs. Kingston present any lessons, which was very strange. I. Instructional Practice Even thoughâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Section two had the students working on syllables. They were asked to determine where two syllable words were split apart. The third section was where the students read a small passage about the lady who was trying to train her cat. The students read this passage and answered ten questions about what they read. Most of the questions had the students focusing on main ideas, supporting details, and even a little bit of sequencing. The final portion of this assessment encouraged the students to write about the characters thoughts about whether the bird that they were talking about was a chicken or an eagle. Mrs. Kingston made content explicit today by explaining to the students why today needed to be a catch up day. However, she was not specific about explaining why handwriting was important or why completing missing work was important. Even though, Mrs. Kingston was not teaching a lesson, I think that if she would have taken a minute to explain why this day was dedicated to catching up, that the students would have been more appreciative of the time that they were given. She also explained her expectations for the students, which included the studentsââ¬â¢ do nowââ¬â¢s and may doââ¬â¢s, which were very similar today. For the do nowââ¬â¢s, the students were expected to finish their handwriting and any unfinished work. The English Play free essay sample
From hanging out with friends in the nearby coffee shop to daydreaming of ââ¬Å"making it bigâ⬠as a rock star, the last few years have been a rollercoaster ride. I am tormented with questions such as who am I and what am I doing here. During the last year at school, I took up the challenging task of directing the English play for the Annual Inter House Dramatics Competition. It is said to be the most grueling, mind boggling but equally rewarding tasks that one can ever take up in the competition. After several discussions with my vice-captain and English Teacher, the play was selected and the cast was confirmed. I had thought of all the ââ¬Å"perfect ideasâ⬠such as the ââ¬Å"perfect propsâ⬠, the ââ¬Å"perfect delivery of certain dialoguesâ⬠and the ââ¬Å"perfect effectsâ⬠All and all it was going to be ââ¬Å"perfectâ⬠. These I took into careful considerations and made sure that my crew membersââ¬â¢ suggestions were incorporated. But little did I know that my ââ¬Å"perfect planâ⬠was not perfect according to my English teacher who was in charge of my House. Even though it was supposed to be a completely student based activity, my English teacher poked her nose in the production. All of us wanted to win and this was made crystal clear by my English teacher. She changed our entire plan into something we could not understand. There was a lot of confusion among the actors and crew members. I was torn between listening to the complaints of the fellow students and obeying my teacher. But soon I realized that the way we were practicing would lead us no where. So, the next morning, I mustered up all my courage, practiced what I was going to say her and finally made the journey of my life to the staff room. I discussed with my teacher about the confusion being caused, the unsatisfied actors and how her interference was causing havoc and frustration. As I waited for my teacher to reply, I prepared myself for the ultimate blow. But she just smiled and said that I had done a good thing bringing this to her attention. In the evening she called a meeting and told crew to continue with previous plans and that it was a student based production. But as she left she reminded us that our ââ¬Å"perfect planâ⬠should bag us the first place. Though we came second in the English play competition; I realized that I had got more out the whole experience than I had hoped for. I realized that I had the mettle to confront problems; I could work under pressure and was a team worker. I still visit my English teacher and each time her face reminds me of that terrifying walk to the staff room.
